Cancer Resources

Alternative Healing

When first diagnosed with cancer, many of us want to find healing options in addition to conventional medical treatments.  Unfortunately no one place exists, either online or elsewhere, where all this information can be found.  So I want to share the fruits of my ongoing research, in hopes that what's been most helpful to me might also help someone you know and love (including yourself) with healing cancer.  Especially for those where conventional treatment options are not working, or don't exist.

Many of these natural strategies and protocols save lives every day!

Radical Remission (book) and website www.radicalremission.com

This fairly new book is radical in and of itself.  Everyone who has cancer or knows someone with cancer absolutely needs to read it!  The author interviewed over 1,000 people who survived and thrived against all odds and documented the methods they used.  She compiled the top 9 things all survivors had in common.  The top three were:  dietary changes, taking supplements, and using intuition.

These next three cancer-healing protocols (Kelly, Gerson, and Budwig are used successively by those with tumor-type and non tumor-type cancers (i.e., blood cancers).  I've incorporated components of them into my own healing regimen.

They all involve dietary changes, taking supplements, and detoxing the body -- among other things.

Kelly Enzyme Protocol.   Used successfully for often fatal cancers (such as pancreatic cancer), it involves an individualized diet (e.g., vegan for tumor-type cancers), pancreatic enzymes (to digest the protein coating of cancer cells), body detoxing (coffee enemas etc.) and other.  Because I studied enzymes in college, I use lots of these supplements in my own healing.  Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez in New York is the current M.D. expert who treats patients with this protocol.  Look for other websites too.

Gerson Protocol.  Like the Kelly Enzyme Protocol, the Gerson protocol has been around since the mid-20th century.  The crux of this protocol is a vegan, high-potassium diet, lots of body detoxing (coffee enemas, cleanses, etc.), supplements, and intensive juicing.  All strategies are geared toward digesting tumors and improving underlying health.  One who is very ill would need help with this protocol (there's also a Gerson clinic in Mexico) but it saves lives for really severe cancers such as sarcomas that modern medicine is less able to help at this time.

Budwig Protocol aka Cellect-Budwig Protocol

This program involves a special diet and supplements (e.g., Cellect) among other things. The diet is basically vegan with the exception of a cottage cheese and flaxseed oil concoction that's supposed to be very healing. I can attest to the anti-inflammatory power of the flaxseed oil, but personally couldn't handle the cottage cheese.  Many do well on this protocol however.  Look for other websites and books.

Chris Beat Cancer.  This young man, Chris, at 26 years old healed his colon cancer with only surgery and without the recommended chemo starting with a raw vegan diet (including 64 oz of fresh veg juice daily, mostly carrot) with lots of supplements and other things too.  He since has become a noteworthy spokesman for natural healing and is now featured in cancer-healing seminars.  His specialty seems to be finding and interviewing survivors of all types of cancers and posts videos on his very informative blog.

Leigh Erin Connealy, M.D.  Dr. Connealy is an integrative M.D. who's using many of these cancer-healing strategies in her clinic in Irvine, California.  She seems to be a big advocate of nutrition, detoxing, and supplements among other very cutting-edge treatments.  For example, she uses some very progressive strategies at her clinic such as Gc-MAF, which is a glycoprotein that activates the body's macrophages (white blood cells in the immune system) to recognize the previously unrecognizable cancer cells, and then kill them.  It's apparently very effective for breast, bowel, and prostate cancers.

The Cancer Tutor.  Webster Kehr lost a loved one to cancer many years ago but decided to keep researching and sharing the information he found on healing cancer.  His website has so much information, it's a bit overwhelming.  But it's definitely a kind of clearinghouse for over 400 types of natural cancer-healing cures or protocols -- from using photons to cesium chloride to a standard anti-cancer diet.  His premise (similar to many in the medical world) is that cancer is caused by microorganisms which he describes in detail.

Kris Carr "Crazy Sexy Cancer."   Kris Carr was diagnosed about 10 years ago with a rare, inoperable, and untreatable cancer with something like 36 tumors all over her body including her liver.  Since modern medicine had no answers for her, she embarked on a journey to recover her health.  One of the first things I watched after being diagnosed was Kris Carr's "Crazy Sexy Cancer" DVD which documents the first year or two of her journey.  She's now a noteworthy educator and speaker on "wellness" in general, known for her wit and humor.  Some of her books are in the local library.

The Quest for the Cures.  Ty Bollinger's "The Truth About Cancer" is getting to be a well-known source of information for natural healing strategies.  He apparently has lost 7 family members to cancer and I'd describe him as an activist.  He's organized an online seminar going on right now with 11 one-hour videos with M.D.'s, cancer survivors, and healing experts featuring many of the experts I've listed here.  Look for his website and the "Quest for the Cures" seminar online.

Blood Cancers.  Here are some resources for blood cancers (i.e., lymphoma and leukemia).

Lymphoma Survival.  This website in particular has been really helpful for me since I have follicular lymphoma.  The creator of the website is a 25-year survivor of follicular lymphoma who has researched a ton of information and has come up with scientifically proven strategies that are essential for natural healing.  These strategies are mostly focused on epigenetic healing (transforming genes that are part of a cancer cell).  His four-pronged healing strategy seems to help many:  optimizing Vitamin D, daily-double exercise to regulate blood sugar, eating anti-cancer nutrients from foods, and some supplements.

Jerry Brunetti -- Cancer, Nutrition, and Healing.  This DVD describes Jerry Brunetti's personal odyssey with healing his non-hodgkins lymphoma, after he was given only 6 months to live, with nutrition, supplements, and detoxing.  He's an amazing source of information on some of the better (and lesser) known supplements used for cancer healing.  He also used the enzyme concept of healing (Kelly Protocol) along with it's recommended way of eating for blood cancers -- that of eating high-quality meats, raw dairy, and lots of high-quality fats along with significant juicing and vegetables.  This is pretty much my current diet that seems to have worked well so far.  Look for his DVD on Amazon.

Adele Sonora.  I'm listing myself as a cancer-healing resource because of all the research I've done on natural treatments, especially having to do with nutrition, supplements, and detoxing.  I may not do it all myself, but can point you or a loved one in the right direction.  Please ask me if there is anything I can do to help.

There are a ton more resources out there for natural healing, so I'll continue to post them as time goes on.
